KVOA: “SSSR calls on Sahuarita to assess Hudbay’s water agreement”

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Save the Scenic Santa Ritas (SSSR) is urging the Sahuarita Town Council to evaluate whether Toronto-based Hudbay Minerals is breaching a groundwater replenishment agreement. According to a press release, this agreement mandates the replacement of 105 percent of groundwater extracted for the Copper World mine using Central Arizona Project (CAP) water.
