Tucson Sentinel: “Az grants air quality permit to Copper World mine project, Enviro group calls it ‘dangerous gift'”

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality granted an air quality permit to the Copper World project on Thursday, clearing a regulatory hurdle for the controversial open-pit mine about 30 miles southwest of Tucson.

While proponents praised ADEQ, the Center for Biological Diversity called the decision “another dangerous gift to the mining industry.”
