UPDATE – Feb. 9, 2026 – Arizona State Land Commissioner Robyn Sahid notified Pima County Friday, Feb. 6th that the state intends to auction 160 acres requested by Toronto-based Hudbay Minerals on April 29.
The Arizona State Land Department has put up for auction 160 additional acres of land for Copper World, where they intend to dump mine waste, known as tailings. Please write to Governor Hobbs TODAY, asking that she instruct Commissioner Sahid to CANCEL the auction.
