The Arizona State Land Department (ASLD) has scheduled an April 29, 2026 auction to sell a 160-acre parcel (in yellow) that Hudbay could use to link up other land they own (pink) to expand its waste dump area. The state appraised the land for $993,000. Hudbay is the only expected bidder. Hudbay could use the land to dump tailings from processing an additional 41 million tons of copper ore that could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.
