Andrea Hoerr is a retired IT professional with a strong background in advocacy, restoration ecology and project management. As the co-leader for the Tucson Broadband of the Great Old Broads for Wilderness, Dre has been active in multiple southern Arizona issues over the past 3 years. She is the media and web manager for the coalition against the Governor Doug Ducey container wall debacle of 2022. Her work and blog posts can be found on borderwallresistance.com
Other areas of activism that she has focused on include the 2023 bid for rezoning ranchland to mixed light industrial and residential in Rio Rico, opposition to the Oak Flat copper mine, communicating the border wall impacts to people and wildlife and in stopping Copper World/Hudbay in the Santa Rita Mountains. An avid hiker and camper, you can find her out surveying riparian plants in Saguaro Park and backcountry camping in northern Arizona and southern Utah.Â
